BELIEVE IN YOURSELF

Vikings vs Saxons Day

Year 5 had a wonderful day immersing themselves in the Viking culture at the Time and Tide museum in Yarmouth. The children engaged thoroughly in history taught through story, drama, objects, dressing up and all very interactive. I was so proud of them. Their behaviour was excellent, they showed the knowledge they have gained through their learning this term and they were a pleasure to take out. A big thank you to our volunteer adults who came with us.

Green Team Success

The Green Team have heard back from ESPO, the company who supplies schools and other organisations with glue sticks. Apparently they can be recycled as long as they are clean. The children have written to NNDC to ask if they put the clean glue sticks in the school’s green bin, that they will be recycled and not end up in landfill.

We’re an odd socks bunch!

Year 4 have looked great with their odd socks to support Anti-bullying week. Trying to get a fun photo was a little funny in itself! Great effort Year 4.

Don’t forget Children in Need day on Friday, bring a £1 donation to wear your own clothes and search out all that loose small change so we can try an attempt a money chain around the running track.

Christmas Fair Tombola Donations

We are looking for donations for the tombola stall which we’ll be running at the Christmas Fair on the 27th November. It can be something in your cupboards, a book you no longer read, an unwanted gift – they all help.

There is a box in reception for you to leave them in and for those children that come via the bus we’ll be having a box in school for them to leave them in.

Thanks for all your help

The Friends

Remembrance Service 2019

The whole school attended church this morning and then walked onto the War Memorial to remember those who have died in war. Year 6 led the service with Mr Busby, Father Mike officiated. The children were amazing and made us feel very proud of them. They walked sensibly there and back as well as listening well in church and at the War memorial. Well done firstly to the whole school for great behaviour and a sense of understanding and then to Year 6 for your presentation and reading clearly in church and at the War Memorial. Thank you also to the all parents, friends and members of our community who were able to join us on this occasion.

Remembrance Day 11 Nov

The school will take part in the Act of Remembrance on Monday at Stibbard Parish War Memorial. Whatever the weather. If you would like to join us, please meet us there at 10.50.

Some of the children have asked if they can wear medals belonging to a family member who has served in the Armed Forces. If you are happy for your child to wear them, please help them to do so. They should be worn on the right.

Message from Green Team

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are going to send home a ‘Recycle with Michael’ bag. If you, a friend or family member are having a clear out of old clothes, please fill the bag and return it to school.

It will help us raise some money for our school and stop items going into landfill.

Please return unused bags to school.

Thank you.
