If you go down to the woods today you’re sure of a big surprise!!
We had a wonderful Welly Day session yesterday which was full of surprises! Not only did the sun shine, when Mrs Cairns had thought that the heavens might open, but we got a chance to see some amazing creatures and had an adventure walking around the pond.
Jane from the nursery had rescued a hedgehog in the morning and asked our class to set it free. We had a chance to look at ‘Hedgy’ up close before releasing him into a safe area of the site.
The children were very inquisitive about him and took great care not to alarm him.
Later we all had a chance to walk around the pond with Mrs Cairns to see what we could spot. The children were very responsible and excellent observers, noticing pond snails, water boatmen and pond skaters. There was even a brief sighting of a newlet.
