It was so cold outside this morning that all of the water in the puddles had turned to ice!
In Year Four, we wanted to find out more about the temperature that liquid water turns into solid ice. First we learned how to read the scales on thermometers and how to use data loggers to read temperatures. Then, we measured the temperature of icy water, tap water and heated water and recorded our results in a table. We found out that our icy water was quite close to 0℃, which is the temperature that water freezes.
