How amazing it felt to be taking our first trip out of school in 18 months. A day in Norwich visiting Dippy in the Cathedral was the perfect destination. We were so excited.
Many of Year 4 have fantastic knowledge of dinosaurs, they could answer questions and share their understanding of not just Dippy but others that existed too. They listened attentively to our guide and were amazed at the size of Dippy.
We had talked about the cathedral before going. It was lovely to suddenly hear the children pointing out the windows, the altar and the organ. The recalled the name of The Cloisters, or Oysters as one child initially offered! We looked at the outside, the height of the spire, the alterations to the cathedral over the hundreds of years as well as listening to the clock chiming every fifteen minutes. We enjoyed a walk through The Close to Pulls Ferry, we enjoyed a snack watching the river before returning along Bishopsgate.
It has been a long day. Well done year 4 for your interest and knowledge. Thank you Mrs Howe-Ward and Mrs Morant for accompanying and supporting year 4 today.
