BELIEVE, ACHIEVE, BELONG

Urgent plea!

Someone has very kindly left a large mound of soil in front of the school gate this morning! If anyone has a wheelbarrow, spade and or sometime to spare to help move it we would be very grateful.
Please also be patient dropping children off and parking at the church where possible.
Thank you for your understanding.

Year 3 Homework 5th July

Unfortunately printing issues meant I was unable to get the homework off my chrome book and into the pupil’s homework books this week. I have however set a multiplication challenge on Sumdog for pupils to complete. They have until Thursday to do this. They can also continue with their daily reading.

Mrs Jeary.

The Human clock

Yr 3 are currently learning about time so we decided to make the times using their bodies.
It would be great if you could make ‘time’ a regular discussion with your children to help them to fully engage with the topic.

Sports Day.

We had lovely weather for our annual sports day today. The children had a great time competing together in mixed age groups first thing and then taking part in the class flat races. The occasion was enhanced with the addition of The Friends BBQ at lunchtime.

Thank you to all parents and Grandparents who came and supported the day and the Summer Fair.

Lego tokens

Earlier this year we entered the Lego for Schools promotion which has seen hundreds of schools across Suffolk and Norfolk collecting LEGO tokens from their local newspapers.

As one of the schools who registered, we’ve been busy counting up our final numbers before the cut off-date of Friday, May 24 at 5pm.

Every school that has collected 1,000 tokens or more will receive £50 worth of LEGO vouchers and we’re pleased to say we’ve easily passed that figure.

The top three schools with the most tokens, as a ratio of pupils, will each receive £1,000 worth of LEGO vouchers.  Whether or not we’ll be one of those remains to be seen, but if you have any vouchers hanging around at home, please send them in tomorrow.

Many thanks.

Sports Day reminders and details.

Please could children come to school in their PE kits on Thursday.

Please park at the church. The playground will not be open for parking.

Key Stage 1 and Reception races will start at 11:30 am. Key Stage 2 races will start at 1:15 pm. There is a family picnic from 12:15 until 1 pm. The school Summer Fair, arranged by The Friends, will start once sports day has finished.

The weather is looking promising and we are looking forward to an enjoyable day of activities.

How Hill final arrangements

Here are the final details for Wednesday! It has come round very quickly!

Pupils arrive at school at normal time please. If you have any medication then please hand this to Mrs Eckett, with the appropriate packaging. Liam will collect any money in, please make sure this is in either a purse / wallet or envelope clearly named. We ask all parents to leave by 9:00am as this allows the pupils to settle and us to make our final preparations.

The weather is looking mixed so those waterproofs and wellies are going to be needed by the looks of things!

All food is provided. Please do not pack sweets and snacks for your children they will just be taken off them.

We will try to post pictures of the days events- wifi dependent – each evening.

We will be back at school Friday afternoon in time for the end of the school day.

Staff going are Mrs Jeary, Mrs Budgett, Mrs Eckett, Mrs Morrant and Liam.

Year 3 Swimming reminder

I hope everyone is enjoying the Easter holidays and the amazing weather. Just a reminder that Year 3 have swimming on Tuesday, first day back, so please could they bring their swimming kits in.

Thanks

Parents of children an all classes are invited to come along to your child’s maths lesson and learn maths with them. It is a great opportunity to see how we teach your children maths and how you can support this at home.
